ARTIST STATEMENT

I'm endlessly inspired by the Mid-Century era—especially the Space Race years. It was a time when people looked to the future with wonder and optimism. That excitement sparked an explosion of creativity, influencing everything from architecture and interiors to furniture and fashion.

Homes were designed for gathering, entertaining, and living boldly. The priorities were clear: the kids could share a bedroom—we needed a conversation pit for records and martinis. Butterfly roofs, breeze blocks, fearless color, wild textiles, and imaginative design became the backdrop for a generation that believed the future would be extraordinary.

That blend of optimism, creativity, and unapologetic style continues to inspire every piece I create.

‍ ‍ARTIST BIO

Expelled from Bible school for questioning the existence of dinosaurs and attending a public school devoid of art programs, Gina's first creative outlet was fashion. With a degree in fashion merchandising, she built a career as a merchandiser, manager, and apparel buyer. However, her true passion emerged when she took her first art class at 26. She promptly left the fashion industry, working nights as a bartender while studying Welding Technology at Georgia Technical College, Jewelry Design at the Spruill Center for the Arts, and Lillstreet Art Center.

Seeking adventure, Gina became a flight attendant with World Airways, where she served the U.S. military. “I crisscrossed the globe in a DC-10 with 400 troops, traveled to over 25 countries, and had incredible adventures. Those years exploring different cultures fundamentally shaped me as a person and ignited my pursuit of life as a full-time artist.” Gina now lives in Atlanta with her husband, Steve, and their trouble-making Bengal cat, Luke. She spends her free time surrounded by her tight-knit group of crazy, creative best friends and travel buddies.
